- 3 medium sized onion - sliced
- Asafoetida, a pinch
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 5 tbsp chickpea flour
- 2 tbsp rice flour
- Salt to taste
- 1 stick curry leaves
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp vallarai paruppu podi
- 1. Take a wide mixing bowl. Add sliced onions, curry leaves and green chilies. Add asafoetida, salt and red chili powder. Mix everything well.
- 2. Add vallarai paruppu podi, chickpea flour and rice flour. Add water little by little and mix everything well.
- 3. The batter should not be too thick or thin. Finally, add 1 tbsp oil and mix again. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- 4. Heat groundnut oil for deep frying. Deep fry pakora in batches till they turn golden brown and crispy. Serve warm with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
